How can the RJ-45 connections on RS-232 and RS-485 SeaI/O data acquisition devices be used?
The RJ-45 connections on these data acquisition devices can be used both for daisy chaining additional boards and connecting a half-duplex RS-485 host system. In the latter case you would need to connect the 485+, 485-, and (possibly) GND pins in one of those ports to those signals of the host system. Please note that there are also power pins in the RJ45 connector that go to the + of the power supply connected to the SeaI/O, so one has to be careful that they are not connected to something by mistake.
For more information about configuration of the SeaI/O data acquisition devices, please see the complete SeaI/O manual.
