The 4101 Ethernet to serial server is the easiest way to connect RS-232 serial devices to your Ethernet network. Each RS-232 port implements all modem control signals for maximum compatibility with a wide range of peripherals. SeaLINK® products use industry-standard RFC 2217 TCP/IP protocol for maximizing compatibility with the widest range of applications and devices.
Sealevel’s SeaLINK software drivers and utilities make installation and operation easy using Microsoft Windows operating systems. After software installation, the 4101’s serial ports appear as virtual COM ports to the host machine. Standard serial operating calls are transparently redirected to the 4101, guaranteeing compatibility with legacy serial devices and enabling backward compatibility with existing software. Serial tunneling is also supported, allowing two native serial devices to communicate over a network. Alternatively, raw data socket mode is supported, eliminating the need for a driver.

Old saver My first time working with this type of device. We have it in the office for a while, until a project came up for the old serial printers. We have customers that can not afford to buy new thermal printers for high volume printing. This little device can do so much and I am glad I came across it.
Rock solid Device! I am the IT Manager for a Waste and Recycling company In the North East. I have been using this 4101 Serial Server for about three Years Connected to A Truck Scale Head in a kiosk, The kiosk has a heater in it to keep it about 60 degrees in the winter but it does get very hot in the summer, inside the box but the 4101 has not had any problems. I never have to reboot it or check on it just keeps reading. This device does a constant output to a virtual pc that waits to see motion from the scale then looks for the motion to stop and then reads the weight. The scale data is sent from the scale head about twice a second .In the three years the 4101 has been running we have had no problems
Good box, fantastic tech support Getting the box working was a bit challenging-- but tech support from SeaLevel was phenomenal. They held my hand on the phone (twice, once in our shop and once on site with the customer). Once it was up and functional, it runs rock solid. It provides us the ability to query remote measurement devices across a network and aggregate the data in our database. When I have a need for this kind of product in a future project, SeaLevel is definitely my first choice supplier.
