Description
Multi-Standard PC/104+ Board for Avionics Interfaces Including MIL-STD-1553, H009, WB-194, ARINC 429, Digital and Avionics Discrete I/Os, and RS-485 Applications
The PC/104+ multi-standard board contains two dual-redundant channels of MIL-STD-1553 communication. The board is compatible with MIL-STD-1553B and MIL-STD-1760. Each channel can be configured independently to work with H009 and WB-194 in conjunction with MIL-STD-1553. Other protocols, like French DigiBus, are also available upon request.
The board is based on proven MIL-STD-1553, H009 and WB-194 (WMUX) IP cores and transceivers. Prior to shipment, the board can be programmed to support various configurations and protocols using the exact same hardware. The PC/104+ board includes eight generic I/O pins that can be used as RS-422, RS-485, ARINC-429 (8 transmit and 16 receive channels) or eight avionics I/O ports. The board also includes eight digital I/O channels and IRIG-B time-tag input and output channels.
The PC/104+ board can be used for onboard avionics systems and for lab testing equipment. The standard interface board is software-compatible with DDC® Enhanced Mini-ACE® components and architecture, enabling fast and easy integration with existing or new systems. A tester version is available with capabilities such as RT Simulation, Multi-RT, Error Injection and more.
Software drivers for Windows and Linux, along with high-level API, are available to ease application development. This software includes an advanced GUI (Graphical User Interface) for controlling the board, generating MIL-STD-1553 traffic, monitoring and emulating a real bus environment.
Provided Software
API Drivers
All MIL-STD-1553 boards are provided with drivers for Microsoft® Windows®, Linux and a high level API, which is provided as source code.
Luthier™
Luthier software is a Windows application, which enables testing and verifying basic operation of the board and MIL-STD-1553 connections. It enables the user to configure the channels as BC, RT or Monitor, define MIL-STD-1553 messages and frames, monitor the traffic on the bus and validate the correct operation of the board. This easy-to-operate program also provides information about energy reflections on the MIL-STD-1553 bus, which are caused by bad connections or lack of terminations.
