The 7205e low-profile PCI Express serial interface provides two serial ports configurable for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. Each serial port utilizes a 16C950 UART with 128-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs that enables data rates to 921.6K bps for reliable high-speed communications in data-intensive applications. This high-performance UART includes 9-bit framing support and is fully software compatible with legacy 16550 applications. In addition, the 14.7456 oscillator and UART’s flexible clock prescalar supports the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates.
In RS-485 mode, the transmitter is automatically enabled in hardware, eliminating the need for application software control. This allows the 7205e to be used with standard serial communications applications and removes the risk of bus contention and data corruption. In RS-232 mode, all modem control signals are implemented for maximum compatibility with a wide range of serial peripherals.
The Sealevel SeaCOM software driver and utilities make installation and operation easy using Microsoft Windows.
The 7205e is a PCI Express X1 board compatible with any low profile PCI Express slot. A standard profile bracket is also included. The board includes a 36-inch cable that terminates to two DB9M connectors.

Exceptional quality
The card has been used since 2010 and there has been only one card returned in that time frame. Having a product that works 99.46% in a production environment makes my job easier.

Strong performing board
Great performance under Win7; I use it as part of a data acquisition system and it works great; however, I am rating it only ??? because we could not make it work under Ubuntu Linux even with tech support from Sealevel.

Thanks for the feedback, DOB! We are glad the 7205e is working well for you in your Windows 7 environment. We appreciate your help identifying an issue with this board under Ubuntu and other versions of Linux. Therefore, we have removed references to Linux support for the 7205e until a hardware change can be implemented on a future revision of this board. The Sealevel PCI Express four and eight port serial adapters and 7203e use different hardware and will operate as expected under Linux. We appreciate your business and hope to work with you again soon.

Great Product!
We use this device for RS 485/RS 232 Communications. The environment is anything but clean and comfortable. Thus far the 7205e and 2213 have performed reliably. Keep up the good work.
