Sealevel Engineer Recognized for Impact on Automation & Control Technology

September 12, 2024

Sealevel Systems, Inc. an industry leader in embedded computing and Industrial I/O, announces Control Engineering, a CFE Media and Technology company, has recognized Preston Clinemyer with a 2024 Engineering Leader Under 40 award.

Clinemyer joined Sealevel’s team in August 2020, working as part of the production team as a repair technician. He quickly advanced to an engineering technician role and decided to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology. Clinemyer graduated in just over two years while continuing to support Sealevel’s embedded computing products, specifically in developing remote platform management interface firmware and custom BIOSes.

Early in his time with Sealevel, Clinemyer was responsible for advanced solder modifications, prototype revisions, and testing. Today, Clinemyer is well-versed in many of the products for our leading customer in enterprise and tactical defense solutions. Specifically, Clinemyer led the initiative to develop custom IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) specifications and firmware. As part of the electrical engineering team, Preston is directly involved with the design of an AI server product family.

“Preston has a natural skillset and inquisitive nature that are conducive to engineering success – and those attributes made his rapid ascension from repair technician to hardware design engineer possible. However, perhaps even more valuable is his drive to pursue opportunities to learn through study and hands-on applications. His zeal for learning and voracious approach to engineering are unmatched,” said Susan O’Hanlan, president of Sealevel.
