What in-house product testing – including simulation, verification, and validation – capabilities does Sealevel have?
Sealevel utilizes a “design for certification” approach to engineering and manufacturing. This approach ensures that our compliance, test, and certification engineers are involved beginning with initial concepts. The “design for certification” approach also requires that Sealevel can perform a wide variety of product tests in-house.
Software simulates and refines PCB performance early in the design process. Robust evaluation encourages early optimization of the design and improved pass rates for initial prototypes, reducing the number of revisions.
Sealevel’s team also employs powerful oscilloscope technology to expedite and improve the testing of electrical signals. Digital signal analyzers are used to test and analyze signal voltages, frequency, amplitude, intervals, and distortion.
Evaluating the material specifications and thermal characteristics of each component better ensures the end-goals of durability and reliability. Sealevel also utilizes simulation and modeling software to begin analysis and testing even before a prototype is designed. Analytics tools are applied to determine tolerance and to create statistical performance models. By defining tolerances, we can ensure proper thermal transfer.
Ideally, prototype testing and thermal simulation take place as the manufacturing site to expedite the process and reduce overall costs. Sealevel’s on-site testing equipment includes a multi-angle transmissive x-ray system, a 2-axis vibration table, a thermal walk-in chamber, and environmental chambers to facilitate pre-certification evaluation. Design refinements can then be made to improve performance before sending the device off for official testing and certification.
