COTS Synchronous Serial Solutions
Sealevel synchronous serial adapters are trusted and used in ground force applications, aerospace and commercial applications where reliable, high-speed communications are required. All Sealevel synchronous serial products are engineered with strict attention to timing to achieve the most reliable high-speed communication possible.
Tactical Data Communications
Sealevel designed the ACC-188 data cable with an integrated USB to synchronous serial converter that provides fast throughput, low power, and small, rugged, mechanical design required for connecting a tactical radio to a computer’s USB port. The adapter allows radios to transmit and receive data such as email, text messages, GPS maps, images, coordinates, and other communications.
MIL-STD 1553
Sealevel offers an alternative for implementing MIL-STD-1553 using software IP cores integrated into FPGA devices. IP cores provide substantial advantages over standard 1553 ICs including reduced cost, easy ability to upgrade, small board footprint, easy evaluation, and it supports long product life cycle. This allows us to offer a wide variety of MIL-STD-1553 COTS expansions.
Sealevel Expertise
For more than 35 years, Sealevel’s in-house team has worked directly with military contractors, governmental representatives, and ground force end-users to design and manufacture more than 350 COTS products. Our forte is using in-house engineering expertise to create custom adaptations of our COTS product line for military and government projects.
Serial I/O
Sealevel offers the widest selection of synchronous serial choices for radio, radar, telemetry and other data intensive ground force applications. Our serial adapters are trusted for military, aerospace, and commercial applications where reliable, high-speed communications are required. These interfaces support RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, and RS-530 electrical interface standards and offer a traditional bus-based approach as well as USB and Ethernet solutions.
ACC-188 Synchronous Serial
Sealevel’s ACC-188 synchronous serial adapter is interoperable, working with any of the various tactical radio brands with a MIL-STD-188-184 synchronous serial communication port to enable the radios to send data such as GPS maps, images, coordinates, and IM-type communications. Combined with DISA’s PDA-184 software, the system provides reliable, consistent data transfer.
Embedded Computing
Sealevel embedded computers and touch panel PCs combine the advantage of COTS and custom development to provide ruggedized computer solutions to meet and exceed any requirements for a ground force application. Ideal for installation in armored vehicles, for controls in remote workstations, and electronic warfare subsystems, these computers are designed to operate reliably in extreme conditions.
MIL-STD-1553
Sealevel’s MIL-STD-1553 board-level products, IP cores and custom computer designs are specifically engineered for military, avionic and aerospace applications. By using software IP cores integrated into FPGA devices, we are able to offer substantial advantages over standards 1553 ICs including reduced cost, easy upgrade ability, small footprint, easy evaluation, and a long product life cycle.
